CARING AND PREPARING IS VITAL FOR THE SUCCESS OF YOUR SOCIALITE TAN......

Below are some basic tips on how to maintain your spray tan:1. Always wear loose, dark coloured clothing after the initial application while the colour is developing on your skin. Avoid wearing tight clothing such as jeans, socks, bra, tights, watch, sneakers etc.2. Do not apply moisturiser, deodorant or foundation until after your first shower. Oil free products are best to prolong your tan. We have Tan Xtend available made with the same ingredients as our solution. It is a great moisturiser and contains a small amount of tan to keep you looking bronzed for longer.3. Avoid sitting on particularly porous surfaces such as suede, leather, pale fabrics etc as staining may occur. The bronzer may come off on your clothing and bed sheets however do not fret as it will come out in the wash. Best to wear old clothes while your tan is developing and throw some old sheets on the bed if you are worried.4. While your spray tan is developing before your first shower, avoid any physical exercise, heat or other situations where you may sweat. Also avoid situations where you may potentially get wet as both of these factors can affect the outcome of your spray tan while it is developing. If this does occur, pat the affected area lightly with a clean, dry cloth – usually your tan will be unaffected and just the surface bronzers will appear blemished but the actual result will be indicated after showering.5. After your first shower MOISTURISE and continue to do so after every shower. This is extremely important to ensure your tan fades evenly. Tan Xtend available from your Socialite Tanning Technician is perfect for this.6. Avoid chlorinated swimming pools during the life of your spray tan as chlorine will strip the product from your skin. While on holidays this can be hard to avoid! An easy solution is to purchase Tan Xtend to keep your tan topped up and looking nice and even.7. Always remember to apply a high spectrum SPF sunscreen because although you may look brown after a spray tan, your skin still burns as fiercely as it normally would.8. While maintaining the tan it is important to refrain from long showers or long hot baths. You see, these practices cause the skin to exfoliate. With spray tans, the top layer of the skin maintains the color, hence the temporary effect. When long showers or hot baths are taken, than the skin will regenerate itself, causing the spray tan to fade. Not only water, but soaps can also cause the tan to fade - be sure to use mild soaps, with warm water and no exfoliant to ensure a lasting glow.9. Exfoliate your entire body before the application . Pay close attention to rough areas like your knees, elbows, ankles and the tops of your feet. We find the best exfoliating tool is the exfoliating gloves or towels you can pick up in the beauty section at Coles or Woolworths for a couple of dollars.10. Always wax at least 1 day before or shave at least 8 hours prior to you appointment11. Please remove all jewelry until after your first shower
